Reflections update

Congratulations to our Ralston Valley Reflections Artists!  What an incredible interpretation of the theme, “What’s Your Story.” Our artists had their work on display in main hallway showcase last week.  There were 21 different views in Literature, Photography, Film, and Visual Arts. We are very proud to celebrate our Ralston Valley artists!
All artists celebrated their successes with a Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts party in their favor.  They received award  ribbons and 13 selected pieces of art will move onto Jefferson County for additional judging.  We wish these artists the best and hopeful movement onto State and National levels.

Opportunities to get involved!

“This is a small but mighty group.” – Ralston Valley Administrator.

Spoken from the heart by one of our own, this amazing group of people has been recognized across the state for this exceptional PTSA.

Nobody has copious amounts of free time, yet all of the volunteers find time to do the work because they love this community. By all means, join. Please consider taking it a step further, and take an active role by volunteering at your child’s school.
There are plenty of ways to get involved from small jobs that take a couple of hours to larger jobs that take many more. One thing is for sure; joining the community of the Ralston Valley PTSA is a rewarding way stay engaged in your student’s high school experience.
Please email our Volunteer Coordinator and Membership Chair, Carol Carr here or
Kathleen Keelan, our President here.  They will help you find the perfect and most rewarding volunteer job for you.

The Chairs of these committees are always looking for more volunteers. Please contact us today to learn more!

There are 6 areas a student can enter; visual art, photography, dance, music, literature and film. Ralston Valley PTSA supports this event. After Prom is it is a well-researched way to keep kids out of danger after the Prom dance is concluded.  This year Prom is April 29, 2017.   PTSA, with the help of generous sponsors, hosts this event.

Research has shown that AfterProm parties sponsored by the school, is one of the best ways to keep students safe on prom night:

https://www.edgarsnyder.com/car-accident/who-was-injured/teen/underage-drinking-prom-night.html.

AfterProm is in need of volunteers and chair positions with expertise in food service, decorations, communications and project management this year.  If you have any desire to help please don’t hesitate to get involved and contact the current chair.  We encourage parents of freshman and sophomores to get involved early as these years go by all too quickly!

It’s important to remain a part of your student’s life, and PTSA is a great way to do so.

Please join us.

Another great year!

Ralston Valley’s PTSA has wrapped up another successful year! Many thanks must go out to everyone who supported PTSA in countless ways such as: by becoming a member, by volunteering on a committee, by donating food, beverages, gift cards and/or money and of course, time.  We are 100% volunteer organization and we could not begin to do it without the wonderful people and businesses that help each year.  In fact, this year alone we handed out four scholarships to deserving seniors who are PSTA members; organized a successful After Prom Event, enjoyed wonderful success with reflections, and organized many second-to-none teacher appreciation events.

Beginning in September, please join us on the first Tuesday of each month @ 6:30  to share your ideas and talents towards continuing this award-winning PTSA’s successes! Its easy to join; just click on the big green button to the right. See you soon!
